While you await UR's first release (it will be a LONG wait, since I've nearly no time to work on it... You might consider this one of the features of ADOM I base my game upon, heh, heh), you might want to check out some early screenshots.

Screenshots from the 0.0.3 version

This is a part of the wilderness map. Snow, tundra, pine forests, plains and some low mountains are visible, as well as some settlements. The entire map is scrollable, since the map view is only 112x90 tiles, while the whole map is 200x200.

Please note that this image has been updated. The previous wilderness view, rather crude, exists no more.

Also, bear in mind that the view of a complete map (especially with all water squares shown) will not be possible in the game since you can't explore certain tiles. The image has been created using a RevealTerrain function I use for testing and debugging only.

This overworld map is the actual artwork that will appear in the game. It has been made by hand. Click on the picture for an artificially enlarged view.

Screenshots from the 0.0.2 version

This is the main menu view, with only three options available: start a new game, load en existing one or exit to Windows. Note that there's a hardly visible background image. It is more spectacular when viewed in the game itself, since there are black clouds moving through it, occulting and unveiling its details.

An explored cavern, generated using the cellular automata rules. Note that there are no disconnected areas, although the empty area in the middle-left part indicates that there used to be one, but has been erased during the dungeon generation.

A mixed pine-oak forest, with some features (bushes, an occasional rock or a dead tree).

An empty map with only a single building in the middle (it has a door in the unexplored area and the inside floor is made of wood). Note that the PC is facing a monster, in this case, a hill giant.

This image does not appear in the game. I used it to make the overworld. The difference between oak and pine forests is nearly invisible due to high JPEG compression of the image.

This one is a fortified town on the coastline of the snow covered northlands. Note that it features a narrow road, the seashore and some surrounding pine forests.
